Weymouth: 4 NightS
On arrival at Heathrow Airport we leave London behind (for now) and start our tour in Weymouth, a seaside town in West Dorset, about 3 hours drive away, one of the prettiest counties in the UK and a favourite holiday spot for centuries, including royalty as King George III spent 13 summers holidaying in Weymouth. You can see his influence throughout the town, which has colourful beach huts, backed by Georgian houses. Boasting beautiful beaches and a fascinating history which we will discover, just as importantly, it is centrally located for our explorations of the Jurassic Coast where we visit places that have to be seen to be believed.
Falmouth, Cornwall: 3 NightS
Falmouth’s maritime legacy is a huge part of its charm, boasting world class watersports on its sheltered waters. We will explore the Fal estuary on the ferries that connect Falmouth with the charming harbour town of St Mawes and if there’s time, the city of Truro. We have 2 day trips from here to the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Loee and Polperro as well as to Penzance.
Bath: 5 NightS
The next day we head to picturesque Bath with its regency architecture and Roman baths providing a stunning setting for what England used to be like. From Bath, we are able to visit the Cotswolds , a beautiful area of rolling hills, honey-coloured stone villages, and charming market towns. Stratford -upon- Avon and Oxford university are another delightful day out from here. Our last day trip takes us into South Wales where we visit the Welsh capital Cardiff, whose landmarks include Cardiff Castle and the striking Wales Millennium Centre arts complex in Cardiff Bay’s waterfront development as well as other Welsh highlights.
Lake District: 3 NightS
From Wales we head north to the lakes District, a beautiful part of the English countryside and a break in our journey northwards.
Glasgow: 1 Night
From the Lake District to Scotland and another strong set of traditions that are still visible throughout the country. We use Glasgow as our base to set out on one of the most scenic trains journeys to be done. Truly breathtaking, we find our way out of Glasgow and into the Scottish Highlands, travelling to Fort William which will be our base for the next stay.
Fort WIlliam: 3 NightS
From Fort William we will explore by crossing the bridge to the Isle of Skye to explore and returning by ferry. We also spend time around the Scottish Lochs (lakes). This is a truly spectacular, wild landscape and its beauty will no doubt appeal to all. We are in the heart of Scotland with real hospitality, clear sparkling air, beautiful scenery, rich clan history, fine food, plenty of space and lots to see and do.
Then we head across country to Edinburgh, with its famous castle, home to Scotland’s crown jewels and the Stone of Destiny, used in the coronation of Scottish rulers, and its medieval old town. Edinburgh is Scotland’s compact, hilly capital. It has an elegant Georgian New Town with gardens and neoclassical buildings. Arthur’s Seat is an imposing peak in Holyrood Park with sweeping views, and Carlton Hill is topped with monuments and memorials. It is a lovely city and it is a joy to visit.
Edinburgh: 3 NightS
Edinburgh is Scotland’s capital, filled with history, culture, engaging attractions and beautiful architecture. We will explore its cobbled streets, Old and New Towns, Edinburgh Castle and find out what makes Edinburgh so special, from its status as a UNESCO City of Literature and UNESCO World Heritage Site to why it has been named one of the top cities in the world to visit.

York: 3 NightS
We head south, back into England, to the city of York for 3 nights and a chance to experience the famous Yorkshire hospitality, York Minster (cathedral with 2,000 years of history) and also home of British chocolate- what’s not to like? Perfectly placed half-way between London and Edinburgh and with the glorious Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors and Wolds right on the doorstep, York is unlike any other English city – which is why we spend time here!
London: 4 NightS
With lots still to see, we head to London for some significant sightseeing. There’s the Tower Bridge, London Tower, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Victoria and Albert Museum, spotting deer in Richmond Park, London Dungeons, Whispering Gallery at St Paul’s cathedral, West End show….Tired yet? Well, we do try and pace ourselves here so that you don’t get too tired and I won’t say we’ve left the best until last because I don’t think that’s true. What we have done is looked at lots of other things on offer in the UK before we hit the bright lights, big city. Buckle up, we have our flight back to Sydney at the end of this stay but I think you will agree, the UK has shown us a great time.
